Cambodia’s Beach Resorts – The Top 20 Rated & Ranked

Cambodia has some of the most beautiful beaches in South East Asia and some of the best in the world according to many reviewers. With that, it has an ever-growing number of resorts that offer what many in the worlds most popular beach tourism destinations do not, serenity and true beach frontage. Many in fact offer private beach frontage.

The beach resorts in Cambodia can be found along the coast of Sihanoukville (southern end) but mostly offshore on the islands of Koh Rong and Koh Rong Samloem while there a new large scale resorts under construction in other areas of Koh Kong and Ream.

Value-wise, for the same price as a standard hotel in any major western city, you could be enjoying a four or five-star resort located on one of the worlds best beaches. Worth thinking about.

The off-peak season runs from August to October during the rainy season when rates drop dramatically although many people still enjoy going there at that time of year. During this time it can rain quite a lot, and the waters, stirred by the weather, lose their nice color and are not usually suitable for diving and some activities. Regardless, it’s still warm. Weather for the rest of the year can simply be described as hot and humid, peaking between March and May, and you should only see very occasional rain which is usually a blessing in the heat of those days.

The Royal Sands (Koh Rong)

Rating: 9/10 – Location: Koh Rong Island
Located on an immaculate section of Long Beach on Koh Rong Island, the five-star Royal Sands offers modern beachfront villas, ocean view, and pool view villas along with a restaurant, bar, wellness spa, yoga space, saltwater pool, indoor pool, and jacuzzi.

Long Beach Resort Koh Rong

Rating: 9/10 – Location: Koh Rong Island
Located on Long Beach/SokSan Beach of Koh Rong Island, they offer individual bungalows that fuse modern construction with the traditional Khmer wooden architecture with direct access to their private section of beach. On-site is a restaurant and bar.

Tube Resort

Rating: 9/10 – Location: Koh Rong Sanloem Island
Located on a secluded section of private beach on the island of Koh Rong Samloem, the Tube Resort features a restaurant, outdoor swimming pool, a bar, garden, along with its modern tube style private bungalows.

Pearl Resort

Rating: 9/10 – Location: Koh Rong Sanloem Island
Located on Sacaren Bay of Koh Rong Sanloem Island, the new Pearl Resort offers individual private bungalows nestled on a half-moon section of the mountainside with the private beach below. It is a secluded getaway including restaurant, bar, beachside pool, and activities.

Sweet Dreams Koh Rong

Rating: 9/10 – Location: Koh Rong Island
Located on the famous Pagoda Beach of Koh Rong Island, the four-star resort offers direct private beach frontage with a restaurant, bar, and pool. Accommodation offered is private modern bungalows that lead straight to the immaculate private beach.

Sara Resort

Rating: 8/10 – Location: Koh Rong Sanloem Island
The four-star resort is located on the beautiful Sacaren Bay of Koh Rong Sanloem Island off the coast of Sihanoukville. The resort offers great value for money with off-peak rates from an amazing $30 p/n. Accommodation is modern private bungalows with the resort having direct beach frontage and bar and lounge by the beach.

The One Resort

Rating: 8/10 – Location: Koh Rong Sanloem Island
Located on the beautiful Sacaren Bay of Koh Rong Sanloem Island off the coast of Sihanoukville, the four-star resort offers modern bungalow villas directly onto the beach. Accommodation is modern private bungalows with the resort having direct private beach frontage. The resort also features a restaurant, bar, and spa.

Tamu Koh Rong

Rating: 8/10 – Location: Koh Rong Island
The new four-star Tamu Koh Rong is unique in offering luxury large luxury bungalow/tents on an immaculate private section of beach on Koh Rong Island. They also offer large standard rooms, along with a restaurant, bar and swimming pool.

Moonlight Resort

Rating: 8/10 – Location: Koh Rong Sanloem Island
Located on Saracen Bay of Koh Rong Sanloem Island, the four-star resort has direct beach frontage and offers unique “domed” private villas. It is a quiet location with a beautiful beach, offering kayaks and other activities along with a restaurant and bar.

Long Set Resort

Rating: 8/10 – Location: Koh Rong Island
Located on the calm Long Set beach of Koh Rong Island, the four-star resort offers direct beach frontage with a restaurant, bar, pool, and hot tub.

Naia Resort

Rating: 8/10 – Location: Sihanoukville
Located on the calm end of Otres Beach, the four-star resort offers direct beach frontage, and private beach, along with pool, yoga space, restaurant, and bar. Rooms are modern and bright.

Bounty Boutique

Rating: 8/10 – Location: Koh Rong Sanloem Island
Located on Sacaren Bay of Koh Rong Sanloem Island, they offer peaceful modern bungalows right on the beach with direct access to their own section of private beach. The four-star resort also offers a restaurant, swimming pool, and bar.

Saracen Bay Resort

Rating: 8/10 – Location: Koh Rong Sanloem Island
Located on Sacaren Bay of Koh Rong Sanloem Island, they offer large individual modern private bungalows that front directly to the beach.

Sol Beach Resort

Rating: 8/10 – Location: Koh Rong Sanloem Island
The four-star resort offers on Saracen Bay in Koh Rong Sanloem offers large villas and some directly fronting the beach meaning you listen to the waves all night, wake up and walk straight onto your own beach. Onsite there is a spa, restaurant, and bar.

Samanea Beach Resort & Spa

Rating: 8/10 – Location: Kep
Located in Kep, the four-star resort offers private beach, individual villas, pool, spa, and restaurant.

Sokha Beach Resort (Sihanoukville)

Rating: 7/10 – Location: Sihanoukville
Located in Sihanoukville, the five-star Sokha Beach Resort features an exclusive section of the beach while also offering beachside dining, two swimming pools, spa, fitness center, and bars. While you’ll feel miles away, it is very centrally located in the popular southern city of Sihanoukville.

Mary Beach Hotel & Resort

Rating: 7/10 – Location: Sihanoukville
Located on Otres 2 beach of Sihanoukville, the four-star Mary Beach offers direct beachfront location and access. The modern rooms all have a terrace balcony with pool or ocean views. Facilities include a spa with sauna, four restaurants, bar, kids club, pool, and private beach area.

Royal Retreat Resort

Rating: 7/10 – Location: Koh Rong Sanloem Island
Located on Sacaren Bay of Koh Rong Sanloem Island, the Royal Retreat offers upmarket traditional wooden bungalows along with restaurant and bar with beach frontage.
