Contemporary monastery and pagoda in Ksach Kandal. If you head along the river here you can come across some brick kilns that apparently have been operating there for as long as people can remember.

Wat Sovannavatty

Contemporary monastery and pagoda in Ksach Kandal. It is well kept monastery also featuring the remnants of older stupa.

Wat Tuol Sambo

A contemporary monastery and pagoda that was believed to be constructed upon the location of an ancient temple site. The pagoda we see today may be around 50-60 years old at a guess.

Wat Preah Sokun Mean Bon

Contemporary monastery and pagoda located north of Phnom Oudong and 300m south of NR5.

Wat Preah Vihear Kaoh Andeth 

Contemporary monastery and pagoda located 1km to the north-northeast of Phnom Oudong.

Wat Phsar Dek

Contemporary monastery and pagoda located 1.7km to the northeast of Phnom Oudong.

Wat Arey Kasap 

Contemporary monastery and pagoda located at the southeastern foothill of Phnom Oudong.

Wat Preah Vihear Leu 

Located at the southern foothill of Phnom Oudong, the monastery features a pagoda with a grand staircase leading to the road that circles the area. The site featured a small neak ta shelter containing a collection of ancient sandstone remnants.

Wat Dangtong 

Contemporary monastery and pagoda located on the west bank of the Tonle Sap River near Longvek. It has been redeveloped in recent times while at the corner of the pagoda, fragments of a sandstone votive stupa can be seen that may date to the Longvek-Oudong era of the 17th-19th centuries.

Wat Peam Chumnik

Contemporary monastery and pagoda located on the west bank of the Tonle Sap River near Longvek. It features an older-style pagoda featuring a wooden roof that is preceded on its east side by a larger contemporary pagoda.

Wat Pram Bei Chhom

Contemporary monastery and pagoda located on the west bank of the Tonle Sap River near Longvek.

Wat Chaktotis

Contemporary monastery and pagoda located on the northwest foothill of Oudong Mountain. It retains some sandstone remnants from an older site including a fragment of a large votive stupa/chedi on the southwestern side of the pagoda that may date to the Longvek-Oudong era of the 17th-19th centuries.

Wat Padimakorn

Contemporary monastery and pagoda located on the northwest foothill of Oudong Mountain. It retains some sandstone remnants from an older site including a leaf-style sema and pedestal of a votive stupa. On the western side of the pagoda is an older bell-style chedi/stupa.

Wat Prok Kdar

Contemporary monastery and pagoda located north of Oudong Mountain in Kandal Province.

Vihear Bak Kor

Located south of ancient Longvek’s outer wall and moat, the site features a contemporary shelter atop a high mound that is surrounded by ancient sema stones. Inside the shelter, is an incredible collection of Buddhist sculptures and several ancient remnants, one assumes, from the 16th-17th century. Surrounding the ancient 16th-17th capital at Longvek is an earthen wall and moat easily visible from the present-day village road that intersects it. Vihear

Located in the cluster of shrines located east of Wat Traleang Keng in Longvek, the site features a contemporary shrine under construction that is surrounded by older leaf-style sema. As per other sites in the area, it has its roots in the 16th-17th century.

Wat Kang Meas (Kampong Thom)

Contemporary monastery and pagoda located on the east bank of the Stoeung Chinit River in Kampong Thom. The area was marked as “147”, on Henri Parmentier’s map from 1935.

Wat Sor Sophon (Kampong Thom)

Contemporary monastery and pagoda located on the east bank of the Stoeung Chinit River in Kampong Thom. It features a beautiful gate that faces the river and a fragment of an old votive stupa perhaps indicating there was a pagoda that preceded the one we see today.

Wat Pnov (Kampong Thom)

Contemporary monastery and pagoda located on the west bank of the Stoeng Chinit river in Pnov Commune, Kampong Thom. It features some laterite blocks that may be from the ancient temple that once existed in the village, Prasat Pei, along with relics of an older Buddhist Terrace of the late post-Angkorian era (15th-19th c). Wat Banteay Chas

Contemporary monastery and pagoda that features remnants of an older brick stupa of the 20th century on its eastern side. It was marked as “146” on Henri Parmentier’s map from 1935.
