Angkor Wonder Garden

Located 28 km east of Siem Reap along National Road 6 and near Angkor Wildlife & Aquarium and the village of Damdek, Angkor Wonder Garden is a massive 7-hectare landscaped flower garden. Opening in December 2023, it adds to the attractions in the area and to the list of major attractions in the Siem Reap area.

It’s big enough and executed well enough that it’s one of those wonderful places where you can simply escape into another world, in this case, a colorful world of flowers. At first, I wandered in and thought, meh, there’s not much here, but I soon realized that isn’t the point, it’s a place you stroll around and slowly become immersed in its colorful and aromatic reality.

There are small statues and European village-style huts throughout an immense array of colorful flowers, at the center of it all, is a small mountain with a cafe offering wonderful views over the whole site, and further out over the natural farmlands of the area.

It’s selfie heaven for those who love that, and there are several purpose-built features perfect for just that.

We suggest visiting in the morning or late afternoon is even better with the afternoon light complementing and bringing out the full color of the flowers, plus the wonderful sunset views on offer from the cafe.

How much are the tickets for Angkor Wonder Garden?

Ticket prices are $10 USD for foreign visitors and $5 USD for children (under 1.2m). Although not needed, you can also rent an electric golf cart to motor around the site and its attractions which is an additional $10.

Opening Hours

Angkor Wonder Garden is open 7 days a week from 8 am to 6 pm and you can get the latest info on their offers on their Facebook page.

Amenities

Around the central hill, there are stalls selling cold drinks, snacks, and Mama Noodles. Atop the hill, there is a cafe with fresh bakery items, espresso coffee of all types, shakes, and the like.

Modern clean toilets are located around the gardens and wonderfully covered in flowers.

Getting There

Angkor Wonder Garden is located around 28km east of Siem Reap on the RN6 just before the village of Damdek. It takes around 40 mins by tuk-tuk, moto or car. You can get price quotes for transport on the Grab or PassAPP apps and expect to pay around $17 one way for a 1-3 seat passenger car.

Nearby Attractions

Considering the proximity of Angkor Wildlife & Aquarium, it makes sense to do the two together. You could also easily include a visit to the Roluos group of temples (especially Bakong, Lolei, and Preah Ko) with a great option for grabbing a bite and relaxing a bit at Bakong My Village.

A little further east, in the village of Damdek, is Prasat Banteay Srei Damdek (not to be confused with the more well-known temple of the same name near Kulen). It features the remains of a small sandstone temple located on the grounds of a contemporary monastery and pagoda. Also nearby is Wat Lorm Proleung, one of Siem Reap’s older pagodas.

Along the RN6 there are several ancient bridges and temple ruins to be seen, and a bit further east is Kampong Kdei & Kampong Chikreng and the grandest of the ancient bridges, Spean Praptos.
