- Area: Siem Reap Province > Soutr Nikom District > Dam Daek Commune
- | Type: Ancient Remains & Temples
A small but very charming site located in Damdek to the west of Siem Reap and not to be confused with the larger Banteay Srei located north of Siem Reap.
Albeit ruinous and having only partial restoration, the site is a must-see if you are traveling out that way. It is reported as being Khleang style and attributed to the early 11th c. under the reign of Suryavarman I (1006-1050). Remains of the entrance gopura can be seen on the east which led to the outer enclosure, which had a gallery along with further entrances on the north, south, and west. The square and tall central shrine also had two “library” buildings on either side.
