Wat Khveng

Contemporary monastery and pagoda located on the east side of the Sangker River and about 5km south of Battambang city. It’s noted as having been founded around or before the 1800s. Unusually, the pagoda we see today, built in recent times, sits on a north-south axis as opposed the the usual east-west axis.

Wat Ta Mem

Contemporary monastery and pagoda, located on the east side of the Sangker River and about 4km south of Battambang city. The pagoda is a contemporary double-story while most interesting are the monumental gates of the original pagoda, three on a north-south axis, which were under restoration on our last visit in Aug 2023.

Wat Kampong Pil

Contemporary monastery and pagoda located on the east side of the Sangker River and about 6km south of Battambang city. It’s recorded that a red sandstone lintel from an Angkorian-era temple was discovered here.
