List updated with new options for 2022! Where to find a great breakfast in Siem Reap? Keep walking past Pub Street and on to one of these picks below. Here I will introduce places to try Khmer breakfast favourites including Kuy Teav (noodles), Bor Bor (rice porridge), Egg Baguette, and Bay Sach Chrouk Ang (Pork Rice) along with some of the common western-style options found in Siem Reap.

Le Pain Du Coeur – French Bakery
The popular small bakery offers a range of pastries and bread along with meals. There’s an array of breakfast options and my pick here is the Breakfast Gourmand for $4 giving you an omelette, bread, grilled tomato, a large plate of fresh fruit, plus fresh coffee and fresh juice

Noodle Corner
Offering Kuy Teav (the equivalent of Vietnamese Pho), a hugely popular breakfast dish, with many variants on offer. It starts with a pork bone broth and rice noodles, and you can choose from there whether you like dumplings, pork, chicken, beef etc. Breakfast noodle shops are everywhere but Noodle Corner is convenient for its nice environment (with a really cool collection of old tape decks etc from the 80s and 90s) plus a Khmer/English menu with pics and friendly staff. Prices from $1.50 to $3.

The Bean Embassy
Renowned for their coffee, they also offer meal options and here I have two great breakfast choices that I mull over every visit. Their traditional pork and rice dish is perfect as is their omelette muffin (pictured). Sadly no breakfast sets with juice and coffee included. Meals range from $2.50-4.5, and lattes are $2.50 and up

Natt Coffee
A popular breakfast spot with locals serving an array of traditional noodle dishes but my go-to here is the simple omelette baguette for $1.50 and the location is perfect for grabbing breakfast before or after a morning visit to the temples. Temple Design Restaurant – Sok San Road
The same company has numerous bars/restaurants/hotel etc in Siem Reap, this is the only one that seems to have reasonable service and consistent food that’s also great value. There’s an array of breakfast options including Khmer options but the pick is their American Breakfast for $4 giving you an omelette, bread, croissant, bacon, sausages, tomato, mushrooms, potato croutons, fruit bowl, plus coffee and juice

Molopor Cafe
A popular icon of the restaurant scene, it’s a simple staple, nothing flashy, just a good location, good service, and consistent food. Breakfast options are many, traditional Khmer and Western. My go-to here is the omelette, with ham and cheese, plus a baguette served with free hot green tea for $2.50

Sambo Khmer & Thai
It’s a neat and super clean open-air cafe with a super friendly owner and staff. Several western-style breakfast options here ranging from $2.50 and up with the $4 option giving you all you see in the picture including two sausages, bacon, two eggs, baked potato, mushroom, grilled tomato, two slices of toast with butter and jam, plus coffee and juice.

Malis – Free Flow Breakfast
Malis offers a Free Flow Breakfast for $7+tax offering as much as you like from their breakfast and drinks menu. They offer a lot of Khmer favourites including several variants of Kuy Teav, Pork and Rice, Chicken and Rice etc, Bor Bor, Numh Banh Chok (rice noodles in fish gravy), plus western style eggs and bacon, omelette, poached eggs etc. along with pastries which are first in best dressed. The breakfast deal is a good one but note, it gets busy there on Sundays.

Khema – Free Flow Breakfast
Khema is the sister restaurant of Malis and they also have offers a Free Flow Breakfast including western and Khmer dishes for $11.90+tax.

Ratana Restaurant – Pork Rice
Pork and rice is a breakfast staple in Cambodia and when you find a good restaurant, it is easy to see why. At Ratana, the sliced tender pork is marinated, BBQ’d, and served alongside fresh rice, small soup, pickled vegetables, boiled or fried egg, fresh tea, and fried dough stick. Prices from $1.50 to $2.50.
