Wat Trapeang Khat
Located in Svay Leu district near the Siem Reap-Preah Vihear border, it’s an older wood-columned vihara with several meditation huts/monks quarters that have recently been refurbished.
Wat
A map of Wats and Pagodas in Cambodia including those visited and planning to visit. For the most part, these are pagodas connected with ancient sites and those visited along the journey in between. It’s a relatively small map considering that according to the Ministry of Cults and Religion (via Khmer Times), Cambodia has 5,104 Buddhist pagodas with 70,905 monks!
Wat Toek Lech
A contemporary pagoda that is located west of Beng Mealea and near the ancient sites of Kuk Troap, Daun Chan and Ta Phou. On the pagoda’s east side, fragments of a pair of small lions can be seen. It’s possible that they originated from the nearby Prasat Kuk Troap.
Wat Pursat (Siem Reap)

Wat Khmera
Located in Pouk, the grounds are large with many colorful and bright gold stupas. The Vihear is older and contains many murals and porched entrances. Location: Central area of Pouk
Wat Svay Thom
A colorful temple that features outer and inner murals, detailed pediments with Vishnu riding the garuda, and beautiful naga fans that are quite detailed front and back. The roof is also quite unique.
Wat Kong Moch
A smaller peaceful monastery featuring an ornate pagoda with beautifully decorated doors and pediments. The eastern entrance is fronted by two cows, or preah ko, while the western entrance is fronted by pairs of horses and elephants. Contemporary monastery and pagoda located on the west side of Pouk District, Siem Reap. As of 09/22, it is under restoration.
Wat Takiet
A contemporary monastery and pagoda that was built on the location of an ancient site with the outline of the original moat still seen, along with remnants of the ancient temple including a sandstone pedestal.
Wat Ampil (Pouk – Siem Reap)
A contemporary monastery and pagoda housing some interesting remnants of an ancient temple. Among those remnants are the remains of one rather large sandstone pedestal, and several others nearby the monk’s residence.

A contemporary monastery and pagoda split over two levels of a small mountain featuring nice views and several shrines along the mountain crest.

Contemporary monastery and pagoda in the northern region of Kandal Province on the RN 6.
Wat Kirisophea
Located to the southeast of Phnom Chhngok in Kampot Province, Wat Kirisophea is a contemporary monastery and pagoda featuring a stupa that is centuries old. The pagoda is quite old too, surrounded by a moat and featuring ornate pediments, one of which curiously features a Yin Yang symbol in a lotus medallion.
