RN6 & Royal Road Angkor-Prasat Andet

A list and map of ancient sites along National Road 6 (NR6, also called RN6 or Highway 6) that was constructed partly following an ancient Royal Road from Angkor leading to Prasat Andet, which was mirrored in part by a road that led to Sambor Prei Kuk.

Laterite bridge with 5 arches, 16 m long, 7 wide and 2 high (Source: Cisark).

Spean Phum O

Laterite bridge that is reported to measure 33 m long, 8.2 m wide and 3.2 m high. At the time of visiting, 06/21, it was a little overgrown.

Wat Ksach (Chikreang District Siem Reap)

Contemporary monastery and pagoda that also houses remains of an ancient temple including a pedestal and other fragments (reported to house some late-era Buddha statues too). It also features an older wooden columned vihara.

O Spean Daek

An ancient laterite bridge that is slowly becoming surrounded by new developments. A new channel that diverts around the ancient bridge has almost turned the site into an island. Remnants of an ancient temple site.

Wat Kampong Kdei

Contemporary monastery and pagoda in central Kampong Kdei. Several ancient remnants were found here. On the eastern side of the pagoda, there is a small shelter housing some curious objects.

A laterite bridge with 5 arches, 18.5 m long, 7.8 m wide and 2.5 m high. It’s one of the many ancient bridges located along the ancient Southeast Royal Road which is replicated by National Road 6.

Partially buried remains of a laterite bridge with 16 arches. It is/was 45 m long, 10 m wide and 3.5 m high.

Damrei Chhlang Temple

Located on the grounds of a contemporary monastery and pagoda (វត្តទិព្វពិសី), Prasat Damrei Chhlang is a square laterite base of an ancient temple (or a later rearrangement of its parts) with sandstone capping, and a pedestal at the center. Neak Ta shelters front and rear containing ancient site fragments and contemporary statues. Gallery
