Preah Trapeang

A contemporary monastery that is built atop an ancient site. It features a moat and basin in the east. Around the eastern side, you can see many sandstone remains and around the base of the pagoda itself you can see molded laterite.

Actually, the setting is quite beautiful, and currently (05/2021) the site is in the process of having a new laterite outer enclosure constructed in laterite which is only completed on the western side at this time. On the eastern side, in a construction pit, a lot of bricks seem to have been uncovered but whether they are modern or ancient is unknown to me.

1 km to the east you will find another monastery and the ancient site of Banteay Srei (Damdek)
