Maha Panna Vihara

Currently under construction (08/22), Maha Panna Vihara (Khmer: វត្តបញ្ញាធំ) is located on the northwestern side of Phnom Penh and is set to become a major icon of the Buddhist world in Cambodia. The site covers a staggering 200,000 sqm (20 ha) featuring a grand chambered enclosure wall made of massive blocks of stone, as it would appear, the central constructions including water features and shrines etc. likewise created from stone. It’s quite fascinating as the monks direct all the work and its completion is eagerly awaited.

Maha Panna, was established by Bhikkhunis (ordained Female monks) under the Mahayana Buddhist tradition with its roots in Taiwan.
