Wat Chea Lea
A contemporary monastery and pagoda split over two levels of a small mountain featuring nice views and several shrines along the mountain crest.
Wat Dei Doh
Also recorded as Dei Doh Pagoda, it sits by the bank of the Mekong River in Kampong Cham city. Featuring some freshly painted stupas (I’m not sure how old), what appears to be an ancient pair of lions, plus a giant Buddha statue.
Wat Dey Krahorm
Contemporary monastery and pagoda. Note whilst the pagoda was locked on our visit, a peak through the window suggests it has an interesting upper band of murals.
Wat Kandal Koh Sotin
Contemporary monastery and pagoda located in the middle of Koh Pen, Kampong Cham. The site features a beautiful pagoda and several interesting funerary stupa/chedi and sema.
Wat Kaoh Pen
Contemporary monastery and pagoda located on Koh Pen, just south of the city of Kampong Cham. The pagoda features unique and fascinating murals lining its inner walls along with a large and ornate funerary stupa.
Wat Kbal Koh Sotin
Contemporary monastery and pagoda on the southeast side of Koh Pen, Kampong Cham. The site features a beautiful pagoda and several interesting funerary stupa/chedi.
Wat Khvet Thom
Monastery where ancient temple remains were found. Located just north of the monastery grounds is a shelter, inhabited at the time by friendly cows, housing sandstone plinths and a lintel.
Wat Kiri Bopharam (Batheay-Kampong Cham)
Contemporary monastery and pagoda with several older stupa, located near Road 6 and at the foot of Phnom Batheay.
Wat Koh Rokar (Kampong Siem District)
Also listed as Wat Tip Simphli Vanaram, a contemporary monastery located just south of the remains of an ancient temple site of the same name. Wat Koh Rokar Temple
An ancient temple site surrounded by a moat. A contemporary prayer hall has been built while a few sandstone remnants can be seen. Some remnants may be from an earlier vihara.
Wat Krala
A contemporary monastery built upon a stone base featuring pedestals from an ancient temple as sema stone holders. Monks at the site believe the pagoda to be near one hundred years old and a new, very elaborate, pagoda is under construction (06/22).
