Contemporary monastery and pagoda featuring several older stupa and quite unique murals inside the pagoda. At the time of visiting (08/22) it was under restoration. Located in the southern region of Ksach Kandal district nearby the Mekong River.
Contemporary monastery and pagoda in the northeast of Battambang city and on the west bank of the Sangker River. It features beautiful decorative wood reliefs in its pediments, I am not sure of the age, but perhaps around mid to late-1900s.
The contemporary monastery also recorded as Banork Pagoda houses several ancient remnants including a reclining Buddha atop the balan. It’s noted that two pre-Angkorian Buddha statues were found here (also see Cisark #1349). Dalet also recorded an ancient Buddha statue seen here noting it as “early Khmer art” (6-7th century) Inscription References
