Wat Svay

Contemporary monastery and pagoda located south central area of Siem Reap city and east of the Siem Reap River. The site dates back to the late 19th-early-20th century. The site also features two grand chedi, which I believe house the remains of prior head monks. It might not be noticed at first, but it features a lot of beautiful and well-executed architectural decoration in the pediments of the pagoda and the nearby hall. Inside the pagoda, a collection of older sandstone sema is seen one could assume from a vihara (pagoda) that preceded the one we see today.
