Wat Chroy Neang Ngourn

A contemporary monastery in Srei Snam located on the west side of the grand basin known as Ang Chroy Neang Nguon.

The monastery grounds feature a collection of repurposed laterite blocks and sandstone pieces from an ancient temple site. Those pieces include a repurposed sandstone pedestal, three antefixes, and a part of a naga headstone that may have originated from an ancient bridge.

Also fascinating is the bull, created from recycled motorbike tyres! In recent times, a new sculpture was added with two elephants and a seated figure in a “teaching pose”. The figure is Monk Phin Soeun, who held the high-ranking title of Preah Kru and served as the Deputy Abbot for the Srey Santhor district in Kampong Cham province, and is seated in Pralambanasana.
