Wat Chheuteal

Contemporary monastery and pagoda located in central Stoung. On visiting again in Feb 2023, the pagoda was under restoration which is nice to see. On the east side of the pagoda is a small shelter housing some curious remnants, first is what appears to be an unfinished circa 8th c water spout (I could be wrong), a spire that may have been from a vihara that preceded the pagoda we see today, some contemporary Buddhist statues and an ancient grinding pestle that’s become a candelabra. Nearby, a sema pedestal, again, possibly from the vihara that preceded the pagoda we see today.
