Trung Khla Khmum Temple

Also known as Khla Khmom Temple. Originally a group of three small brick temples with a “library” building and an outer brick wall with an entrance on the east. Remains of all the structures can still be seen but it is the central shrine that has held up the best.

The central shrine features false doors on each side, set in brick, flanked by pilasters also set in brick. The shrine opens to the east although no remains of a sandstone doorframe are to be seen as it originally had a hall, or mandapa, extending eastward. You can see some nice decorative work set into the bricks above the false door on the southern side. It rises up with two false floors continuing with false doors set in brick on each side (except on the level above the east entrance).

A collection of sandstone pieces are gathered together including, very interestingly, a round pedestal perhaps indicating a female patriarch, square pedestals, and a well-preserved crown piece that one assumes would have topped the shrine.
