Lom Neang Temple

Also recorded as Prasat Trapeang Kol, it is a tall brick temple in good preservation, flanked by sandstone library and surrounded by a double enclosure of laterite. The site appears well cared for and has a nice atmosphere to it. Nearby there are large basins but it’s unknown to me if these are of ancient times or not.

The site features the remains of a low outer enclosure wall which encloses another laterite wall with the remains of sandstone entrance pavilion/gopura on its eastern side containing the remains of two sandstone libraries, that are believed to have had brick roofs, and a tall single brick temple that has been elegantly overtaken by nature. It too opens to the east with false doors on its other sides. The false doors are topped by sandstone lintels that never received any final decoration. Half of a deposit stone is also seen at the site which are rare to see outside of a museum.

In 05/22, the site is easy to reach, most of the way by sealed roads, with a final dirt road in good condition leading to the site.
