Located around 10km southeast of Choam Khsant, Prasat Trapeang Ampil is the remains of three brick temples. The three temples rise up on a common base with the other two built of sandstone while using brick in their superstructures and the central temple is constructed mainly of brick with sandstone used around the base and doors.
At the time of visiting (02/23), the site is heavily protected by thorny bamboo making it a bit of a challenge to navigate but rewarding to view some of the reliefs in the pilasters and interesting iconography in other fragments that undoubtedly warrants further study. It is noted that the site also featured traces of an outer laterite wall and gopura on the east and west.
