Kasen Temple

Also recorded as Prasat Thma Puok the site is located centrally in the village of Thma Puok and makes for a popular park. The ancient site is surrounded by a large moat with entrances on the east and west. The single brick temple is no longer standing but it curiously featured a very high, almost pyramid-like laterite base which is interesting.

Upon this rise which is mostly earthen covered, there are several remnants including a partially standing sandstone doorframe, several sandstone plinths, and the remains of a “library” building on the southeast corner. In shelters surrounding the site, you can see other remnants and there is a recently added statue of Ganesha on the northern side and an Ascetic on the southern side. This is all surrounded by an outer wall of laterite which had entry pavilions on the east and west, and then the moat mentioned earlier.
