Necropolis

An uncleared site and unprepared for visitors. Located along the northeastern edge of the Beng Thom (a large basin) is a mostly continuous mound running east-west of almost 250 m in length and perhaps 30 m wide and several meters tall. On its northeastern end can be seen a laterite structure, a sandstone plinth, various carved and molded sandstone debris, and sema stone. The debris appears to be of varying material, and in varying states of decay.

The most curious piece is a large sandstone square which looks like the top section of a massive yoni pedestal (may well be something else altogether). Measuring around one meter wide with almost one meter in exposed hieght. Somehow, it has managed to upturn itself and seen in the featured image. Below is what can be seen through the overgrowth of laterite structure atop of the mound.

Below are some of the exposed laterite structure.

Other pedestals and sema can be seen around 80 m to the east-northeast. The site is currently being researched by the Angkor Vihara Project/APSARA.
