Ta Prohm Temple of Banteay Chhmar

Perhaps the most popular of the satellite temples that surround the main temple Banteay Chhmar, Prasat Ta Prohm is a similar layout to the others featuring an outer laterite wall with remains of entrance pavilions on the east and west, a large moat, another laterite wall with an entrance pavilion on the east enclosing a small “library” building and the tall central tower. This central tower perhaps has the best-preserved superstructure with its massive carved smiling faces on each side. In the photos it appears a little overgrown, just the rainy season growth, if I was a few hours later it would have been cleared with workers on the site at the time of visiting.
