Snoeng West Temple

Also referred to as Prasat Snoeng Khang Lech, it is the remains of a sandstone temple. The site is located right by the roadway and fronting the monastery features a doorway opening to the east with a short forebody repeated around the other 3 sides with false doors. What makes it worth traveling to the site is not only that there is another temple 200 m away, Snoeng East, but also the nice lintels this site has still in situ.

Above the north door is blank, carving had not started, above the east door – Churning of the Sea of Milk, above the west door Vishnu on Ananta, and the east two registers of characters with three lions holding center stage.

There is a large mass of stone around the temple and even some excavation revealing some laterite. Pedestal, crown element, and lots of plinths.
