Sasar Sdam Temple (Pouk District)

Monastery (Wat Sasar Sdam) built on an ancient site where an inscribed stele was found (K 832). The pagoda is still surrounded by the ancient moat and the remains of the ancient temple are neatly arranged on its western side.  The arrangement includes numerous sandstone plinths from door frames etc, some of which are pink sandstone, laterite blocks, small pedestals, and sema stone plus the base of a Buddha statue perhaps from a time period somewhere between the ancient temple and the current pagoda. There is also an inscribed stone and is recorded that there are lintels housed in the pagoda.

Update 09/22

On a revisit to the site, the pagoda was open and it stunningly preserves two carved lintels which are embedded into the alter (or balan) along with ornate door columns, naga corner pieces, and older sema stones. Outside the pagoda, there is also a small shelter with a pedestal and smaller remnants.
