Prasat Neang Khmau is a temple tower built from laterite rests on a square sandstone basement and is located in Takeo province about 55 km south of Phnom Penh. Neang Khmau translates into “Lady in black’ and refers to the unique dark blue colour of the temple’s lateritic walls caused by an oxidation process. The temple was dedicated to the Hindu phallic symbol Linga and its main door has a lintel carving depicting Lord Brahma on a lotus flower.
