Pongro Temple (Svay Chek)

Prasat Pongro, also recorded on some maps as Prasat Kor Pong Ro, and Kouk Pongro, is a partially standing small brick temple. It opens to the east, and while the south and west sides are still unexcavated, offering support to what remains, the northern wall is cleared, exposing the outline of the false door. Sandstone remnants, which would likely be parts of the doorframe, can be seen a few meters in front.

Only one single small brick shrine exists, but perhaps excavations one day will reveal the bases of other structures.

Historical Notes

Prasat Bang Ro. 4 kilometers west from Don Tei. It was a small brick sanctuary, open to the east on a mound surrounded by a basin-ditch. It is very ruined; its main facade especially is completely overturned.
