Phnom Dob Temple

Located north of the ancient East Road and east of Spean Ta Ong, the remains of Prasat Phnom Dob sits atop a small mountain. It features the base of what may be two or three brick shrines that are enclosed by a laterite wall that may have dated to the 10th-11th century.

The site is heavily overgrown and the outer laterite wall is only partially standing on two sides with a width and length that may be around 30m. Notably it features bell shaped capping similar to other temples along the ancient route. At the center, a large overgrown mound features the traces of the basement of what may have been three small brick shrines aligned on a north-south axis that opened to the east noting the site sits on an east-west axis with a typical inclination to the north.

A fragment of sandstone decorative lintel is seen and the spigot of what one could assume to have belonged to a statue. At the foot on the rise on the east side is a small shelter housing a small collection of remnants including a pesani (grinding stone), its roller, and a fragment of a decorated colonette.
