Wat Lbeuk (Srei Snam)

Monastery grounds where remains of an ancient temple, named Prasat Pothi, were found. The remnants lodged were with the National Museum including a bronze head of Shiva. Nearby several other mounds with remains of ancient sites were recorded, they include Prasat Lbeuk, Prasat Top, and Prasat Lich.

The remains of ancient temple sites are numerous including laterite blocks, sandstone pedestals, and, sema stones from the vihara that preceded the pagoda we see today. If you check the images on the Cisark site here you can see the contemporary pagoda under construction, and, the original foundations of that earlier vihara which reused masonry from the ancient sites. The pagoda we see today, I believe, dates to 2011 which roughly dates the Cisark images.

Regarding the bronze head of Shiva, I have not been able to find it in any catalogue or either the PP National Museum, Angkor National Museum or the Guimet. A mystery. It seems a little special as it would be quite similar style wise to the famed Vishnu of West Mebon temple.
