Also a contemporary monastery with a new pagoda under construction, Prasat Chhouk of Chhuk village is an ancient temple site where today, you can still see the large mound from which the temple arose with some of the original sandstone blocks of the temple rearranged to form a vihara supporting a Buddha.
Images of the site from the early 2000s record a mostly barren landscape and a completely collapsed temple, so, sometime between then and now the monastery was established and the tumbled blocks of the temple were rearranged to how we see it today. Near the monk’s huts, fragments of a carved figure can be seen, which may be Avolokiteshvara. Nearby the head monk’s quarters, a small square pedestal can be seen.
