Preah Ang Dorngkeu Shrine

Preah Ang Dorngkeu Shrine is located in Phnom Penh near the Royal Palace on Sisowath Quay. Locals believe that prayer here will bring good luck. The shrine contains a 12-13th century-style statue of a radiating Avolokiteshvara covered in black lacquer, but, it is actually an ancestral spirit that people come here to worship relating to a local legend surrounding the flagpole here. Another shrine to the north features three local deities, Lokta Dambang Dek, Lokta Krahorm and Lokta Preah Chao.
