Asram Moha Russei Temple of Angkor Borei District

Located on the slopes of Phnom Da the sanctuary is built on a narrow rock platform with its rear facade almost against the hill. Asram Maha Rosei is made up of a central cella, 2 meters per side, surrounded on all four sides by a corridor 70 cm wide on average, which is lit by eight small windows (three on each side face, two on the main facade); a single door gives access to the sanctuary. It was constructed under King Bahavavarman around the 7-8th century, Funan Era.

The site was first restored by a French/Khmer team in the 1930s. Photos dated to 1935/6 via Fonds Cambodge

You can see a similar site that was constructed in the same era at Kouk Preah Theat Temple at Hanchey. Nearby of course is Phnom Da Temple and see that listing for more details about getting to the site.
