South Sneng Krabei Temple

Also recorded as Prasat Snaeng Krâbei Khang Tbong, it’s a group of three ancient brick temples, all aligned on a north-south axis of an elevated common platform. All three open to the east and feature sandstone doorframes with decorated sandstone base molding. They featured at least three false levels, reducing in size as the rose with false doors set in the brickwork although, not much of that remains today.

Around the other sides of the towers, the usual false doors flanked by pilasters formed by the brickwork of the main structure. On the central tower you can still see the beautiful pediment decoration which was typical of temples of the era.

Three lintels rest on the ground in front of the temples, decayed, but interesting

Reaching South Sneng Krabei Temple – it’s located just south of North Sneng Krabei Temple and is accessed via the same south leading dirt road. As of 04/22, I did not see an access road leading to the temple off this dirt road but it’s easy enough to cross the field by moto and not far by foot if you had to.
