The monastery of Prei Vihear Sour features the remains of several very old stupa, one now protected under a shelter beside the pagoda, along with the remnants of an ancient temple including a Buddha on naga fragment and pedestal amongst other relics. It’s another important site in the post-Angkor 15th-16th century period being one of the five pagodas of the Basan area and a sacred place according to local beliefs.
